SpineVision SA bigwigs have recruited former Wright Medical Technology executive Ken Yamada to head operations at its U.S. subsidiary in Sausalito, Calif. The new chief operating officer worked at Wright for two years as the vice president of international operations and has 17 years of experience at medical firms.“Ken Yamada is a senior executive with a strong track record of success in the medical device and surgical specialties, specifically in orthopedic/spine and neurological global markets,” SpineVision CEO Arnaud Brisard said in prepared remarks. “He will lead SpineVision’s General Management and Sales Management efforts for our U.S. subsidiary. Ken brings substantial skill sets to SpineVision, and we expect him to make an immediate and significant contribution in support of our business’ growth throughout North America.” SpineVision also set up a new subsidiary in Düsseldorf, Germany, tand promoted country manager Danny Severens to sales manager for Northern Europe. Severens will develop SpineVision’s German sales network in addition to his current duties as country manager. The personnel moves occur just two months after the French firmraised $10 million from new and existing investors for expanding existing commercial operations in the U.S. and European markets. SpineVision recently received CE marking for its new generation Flex+2TM dynamic stabilization rod. In addition, the company received 510(k) clearance from theU.S. Food and Drug Administrationfor minimally invasive surgical instruments that treat degenerative spine conditions. Founded in 1999, SpineVision is a privately owned, integrated spinal technology company that develops and markets spinal implants and instruments.In addition to Germany, SpineVision operates facilities in France, Italy, Belgium, the United Kingdom and the United States. The company posted double-digit revenue growth in 2012.
